I believe FIFA holds exclusive rights to the Premier League including kits, emblems etc. Even Football Manager does not have a licensed Premier League or even (possibly) a licensed German National team/Bundesliga (not 100% sure about that second one). A similar thing has happened a few years ago where the Netherlands National Team could only be licensed on one game per year (I think), so FIFA had fake kits, names etc. for the Netherlands and then PES did.

Germany and the Bundesliga have been in every Football Manager title that I've played, but always unlicensed as far as I can remember. I never bought 2015, so I'm not sure about that. I do know that some of the games in the series were unavailable for purchase in Germany, though.

Either way, Bundesliga was mainly used as an example. There's many leagues they could add in some form from across Europe.

Football Manager always has the correct names though I'm sure? Just don't have the emblems and kits.

You're right. The Premier League itself is unlicensed, same with kits and emblems - but there are real team names.

The Bundesliga only has real player names - The league, clubs names, emblems and kits are unlicensed.

Either way, licensing is not straightforward or cheap for anyone wanting to use official names etc. FIFA have an advantage seeing as the game is named after the World governing body of Football. I do remember hearing on Sky Sports how FIFA was called 'the official game of the Premier League' or something.

As far as I know, this is allowed because simulation (PES/FIFA) and management games (FM) have different licensing laws.

One thing that really surprised me was the "mildness" of the ref in the demo. They let the game go on a lot more instead of blowing their wistle for every sliding tackle. They only gave about 5 fouls on about 20 sliding tackles, even if I made a foul but they gave advantage much more. Very happy with that.
Not so happy with certain teams, like Celtic, missing.
I wouldn't bother following me on twitter if I was you,
I'm pretty boring actualy

Personally, this is only "my opinion" it's the usual let down, so glad I cancelled my pre-order, Konami just never go anywhere but backwards on the license front, so many teams missing, Man Utd again as the single Premier League team (n) also no England NT again (n) only "5" licensed European National teams in total, oh dear, also hardly any licensed stadiums again.

If your reading this Mike I'm sure your put a positive on this (I always respect your opinion), but, I just don't see one myself, Konami just don't do enough in terms of licenses, end of.

Also according to OperationSports, it does indeed look as though only "some" Brazil club teams will have real player names, another let down, Konami say they have all these teams licensed and make a big deal of it when it's just some kits, pathetic. (crazy)

Finally, where are the new licensed leagues? there are none, I remember doing a survey last year about what leagues you'd like to see licensed in PES, what was that survey for exactly, there's nothing new in this game at all, very disappointing.

Hmm? There are 34 European teams with licensing it's just they said the main 5 people would want to see. And in any case if you're so hell bent on getting all the kits you can make them! :] In which you'd only need to do the EPL any ways.
