I can't see why they can add a fake Celtic... They are entitled to used Scottish based players names and likenesses via the FIFPro licensed. But, they seem to have knocked the idea of fake teams on the head. They could have an 'Other European Teams 2' and include fake teams. Licensing isn't an issue anymore. Plus these teams could appear in the CL/EL modes instead of them awful fake ones...

Also, back in the day, they was called 'Old Firm Green' :)

MotherHen wrote: Right, as far as i know, Konami have the FIFPro license which enables Konami to use real player names and likenesses of 58 different nations.
Looking at this tweet, it appears not all 58 nations can be accessed.
MotherHen wrote: But, how do Konami have the rights to use Man Utd and the three German teams? Do they buy these licenses individually? I assume this is the case why do they stop at one English and three German teams?
Both leagues are exclusive to EA but Konami are allowed to license several (1 English and 3 German) in PES. I'd say this is the case so Konami can't moan about being locked out - even though they obviously are... (hmm)
MotherHen wrote: Scotland are part of FIFPro but Celtic have an exclusive deal with EA. But, if im right, Konami should legally be able to add a 'fake' Celtic in the 'Other Teams' section. They used to always to this back the the PS2 days but, it never happens now.
Didn't know Celtic were exclusive to EA. But either way, maybe Konami have decided to only include licensed teams in the Other European section? If they have gone down this road, I for one agree with their decision.
MotherHen wrote: Also, where do stadiums fit into it? Are they a separate licensing area altogether? Also, does anyone know how licensing works for national team? Not even EA could get Belgium licensed...
From what I gather, stadium licenses are more complicated than club/team licenses. Probably don't know enough about this to go into detail though. As for Belgium, I can only assume they're, for whatever reason, aren't able to negotiate a deal. Maybe their price is too high? (I seem to recall the Dutch national team had this issue a few years ago).
DanWallyPESWorld wrote: I think the big issue now is Kit Slots. If they provide enough space to allocate kits to all teams, club and international, then we are on to a winner.
More edit slots is a must!

I want to do as little compromising as possible for the OF. Emblems and kits for the major unlicensed leagues, created teams, OPE FC and the top unlicensed national teams. We'll see what happens.

Thanks for all the responses. I just like to understand how things work. Its painful seeing clueless people hammer Adam over stuff out of there control. Also, i must have missed that tweet you linked from Adam. I follow his profile for general stuff. :)

If some some reason, they can't use all the teams in the FIFPro license, that's a shame. I'd like to the USA & Mexico have 'real' players for a change...

To be honest, i like teams not being licensed, especially for kits, its great we can each customise our games how we like. The introduction of option files again means licensing doesn't have a big impact any more. If i want MLS but Shales wants Mexico, it can be done :-)
This is a great argument for benefits of unlicensed teams actually! Great point. So I wonder if I'll be able to add a 4th old school strip for Arsenal now that they are licensed? I hope so.

Unless a workaround is found, you won't be able to.

This is the only downside of having your favourite team licensed. Still very much worth it overall though! :-D

Bummer! So I'll have to create a cloned team in one of the custom/fake leagues. Not the end of the world. I'll just have to recreate the Invincibles 8-)

If you prefer, you could always replace the European/World Classics. That way, Pires/Henry/Ljungberg/etc won't turn up in ML if you don't want them to.

Does it cost Konami per team do you think? so say they wanted to used Celtic as a fake team, is it just an extra cost that probably isnt needed?

Wouldn't be a bad thing if they showed up! Euro classics is a good shout. I do like the euro/world classic teams though. Especially as now it's possible to upload real names/created faces for these players via OFs. #veryminorpesproblems

Assuming you'll be using the OPE OF, hopefully there'll be a Export/Import Team option, so you can add your Invincibles each time a new OF update / Data Pack is released.

I'd like the return of Classic England, Argentina, France, Germany, Holland, Brazil & Italy. Along with the addition of Classic Spain. :)

I actually have no idea. These types of things are never really put public.

Or at least a Legends Team; a squad that includes all myClub legends - assuming PES 2017 has enough to form a team! :-D

Isn't the J-League in the Japanese version of PES?? If it is, its not exclusive to EA which is a bonus...

I actually posted this question on twitter earlier and I was informed that the J-League hasn't been in Winning Eleven since 2015.
