Has the world of online forums crashed?
I used be a member on a dozen forums where there would be loads happening daily now it's very limited and a lot less active.
Sites vary from WEmaniacs/PESManiacs, soccer graphics sites, general gaming forums all no longer are around. It appears the vase hase gone certainly for the Soccer Graphics.
Has anyone else experienced this on sites?

Re: World of Forums
Personally, I think the activity for all forums has dropped, mainly due to the rise of smartphones and social media.
Nowadays, it's too much effort for some people to regularly check their favourite forum, when they have Facebook and Twitter as an easier and more popular choice.
As someone who grew up on forums, it's quite sad to see, however, that's just how things go when fads and technology change.

Was thinking the same thing. Twitter seems to have everthing these days. It's easy just to open it up and view all the gossip etc. I still like communicating on here though, as communication is limited/frustration on twitter due to the 140 limit. But I get why forums have seen a decrease.Mike wrote: Personally, I think the activity for all forums has dropped, mainly due to the rise of smartphones and social media.

Yeah it's a shame. Hopefully the time will come again for forums.

I can't see it unfortunately. I think the ease at which you can hoover up obscene amounts of data, flog it on and then use it to very specifically tailor/target advertising means Facebook, Twitter etc have become both rich and powerful.nick7 wrote: Hopefully the time will come again for forums.
I still think forums will have some level of interest, partly due to increased privacy but mainly because they act as a meeting place for people to talk about fairly specific interests. The days of the long 'general chat' thread are probably over though...replaced with selfies, thinly veiled boasting and #hashtags.
